How Well Do You Really Understand Your Camera?

Are You Going Round in Circles Trying to Find the Right Information?

  • Do you love photography but feel that your photos could be SO MUCH BETTER? Are they sometimes a bit blurry, too dark, too bright, or maybe not very exciting? Do you just want to be able to take BRILLIANT PHOTOS OF YOUR FAVOURITE THINGS?

  • Is reading the boring manual driving you mad? Have you disappeared down a million YouTube rabbit holes trying to find out which button does what and why?! There’s so much information out there – how on earth are you supposed to know which is good or bad, or even what's important?

  • Well, guess what? You don’t need to search the whole of the internet for the answers or know the manual back to front and inside out! The truth is that learning to use your camera properly is not difficult – you just need to learn the RIGHT THINGS in the RIGHT ORDER – and there aren’t actually that many of them!

The Number 1 Reason Not to Use Auto

Can you imagine knowing PRECISELY how to set up your camera in ANY SITUATION and for ANY SUBJECT? How would that transform your photos?

So, What Will This Course Give You?

A Clear Path to Camera Mastery

Learning anything starts with a firm foundation. This course consists of clear, focused lessons to guide you step-by-step through each of the IMPORTANT settings on your camera (you don't need to use ALL of them just because they're in the manual!), what they do, and how to find and adjust them.

The lessons are laid out in a logical sequence so each step leads on to the next. They all join up to create a repeatable system that you can use for photographing anything. The aim of the course is, quite simply, to show you how to use your camera properly, just like a professional; this is your launch pad to great photography.

How it Works

Step-by-step video lessons, with quizzes to test your progress and downloadable infographics to explain the key concepts.

Once enrolled, you’ll have unlimited access, so you can stop, start and rewatch lessons at a time and a place to suit you. Forgotten how to use a particular control? No problem – just replay the lesson until you feel confident.

What to Expect

If you work through the course diligently, and practise using the settings as much as possible, I promise you that you’ll transform your ability to use your camera.

Once you discover the power of getting away from Auto, you’ll never want to go back! And the beauty of having all this knowledge is that it will help you to take photos of whatever it is that YOU love to photograph, whether that’s people, plants, architecture or landscapes - it really doesn’t matter.

"I was even able to explain everything to my husband and he understood! Just had my first solo foray into the butterfly house at Wisley and shocked my children with the results (only used manual mode as well!)"

Hello, I'm Anna. I teach confused photography beginners how to use their cameras!

I live in the beautiful town of Guildford in Surrey.

As well as photography and teaching, I love (in no particular order) second-hand bookshops, long walks, the sea, old buildings, cake, Earl Grey tea and cats! I'm also a firm believer in saying "no" to anything that doesn't bring me joy - life is too short.

Over 20 years ago I ditched an unsatisfying career in the corporate world to train as a pro photographer. For the past 8 years, I've passed on my wealth of knowledge to hundreds of students just like you, who've attended my group workshops and 1-1 training - the testimonials on this site are from just a few of them.

Now, you can benefit from exactly the same training, but delivered online at a time and place to suit you. My aim is for you to be up and running with your camera in as short a time as possible.
